Lilah was a pro on the iPad.
At breakfast, Lilah sat with me in the buffet restaurant. I had my iPad, and she was fascinated by the Apple pencil. I opened the “Pages” application, and she tapped on the screen. Immediately a palette appeared. It had various colors and various tools, such as Pen, Pencil, Crayon, and Eraser. For more than a half hour she worked on various drawings, from abstract designs to stick figures, and her attention never wavered. She scribbled with the Pen tool; then, switching to the Drawing tool, she filled in the blanks between the scribble until they looked like a stained-glass Picasso.
Hayley took our photographs.
Bridget had gotten up with a headache and my stomach was a little queasy, but we felt better after breakfast. Unfortunately, David felt ill and tested positive for covid. Thereafter he was confined to his room – what a shame! Zhi-Ning and Lilah were still negative. Carl too was negative.
In the afternoon, Hayley had us all (minus Corey and David) come down to the beach. There she took various photos of the family with the turquoise water in the background. She also took pictures of the individual couples and groups of siblings. She joked that she would include Corey and David by editing the pictures via Photoshop. The family gathered at the open-air restaurant “Sunset” for dinner and took extra plates to Corey and David. The next day we would say our
farewells.
